Sub-Acute Drug Detox Center

Before a person can begin their journey on the road to recovery, they must cleanse their body of all intoxicating substances. Addiction detox is a crucial time, and one that must be handled with the utmost care and urgency at a professional drug detox center. The scale of the individual’s dependency and the length of time they have been dependent on drugs or alcohol will determine the length of detox and what additional assistance will be needed while going through this process. The Discovery House is fully equipped to help residents through the sub-acute detox phase of recovery and through residential treatment and outpatient.

Drug Addiction Detox Process

Our years of experience with sub-acute drug addiction detox have provided us with extensive knowledge of the many possible side effects that occur during this process. Nutrition and time to recover are provided as needed to make this transition as comfortable as possible. The Discovery House staff and residents combine to make an unparalleled support system for those who require a sub-acute detox.

Symptoms of Sub-Acute Detox:

Emotional and Psychological

  • Anxiety
  • Insomnia
  • Irritability
  • Headaches
  • Depression
  • Restlessness
  • Social isolation
  • Poor concentration

Medical and Physical

  • Tremor
  • Nausea
  • Sweating
  • Palpitations
  • Racing heart
  • Hypertension
  • Muscle tension
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Tightness in the chest

As with any detoxification process, the harmful substances in the body must be replaced with healthy substitutes. Our team develops a nutrition plan to help each resident on their road to a healthy lifestyle. As the body begins to take in the nutrition and expel the harmful toxins, cravings will lessen and our focus can turn to solutions for the biological, psychological, mental and spiritual recovery.

As sub-acute detox is completed, the staff at The Discovery House slowly transition the individual into the residential therapy and inpatient programs that will help them recover fully. We help address the resident’s underlying issues, and use proven methods to help them learn how to manage stress and the temptation to use again. Our program is designed to provide our residents the tools to achieve life-long sobriety and create new lives filled with meaning, purpose, fulfillment and a sense of belonging, so that they can maintain their life of sobriety after leaving our facility. The outpatient rehab program at The Discovery House provides further support to residents as they return home and work to prevent relapse.
