Here at The Discovery House family is very important to us – especially around the holidays. Our programs are built on the notion that when one family member struggles, every family member is struggling. That is why we work so hard to create programs that bring families together to heal and build a trusting foundation in recovery. Family is a part of everything that we do here and that’s why this holiday season we wanted to have our family work together in bringing a little extra happiness and joy to families in need within our community.
Our team kicked off the season of giving by organizing an office-wide canned food drive for families in need. In support of the 8th annual Campus Clothing and Food Drive presented by Unified We Serve, our team was able to collect almost 200 cans for donation just in time for Thanksgiving, a holiday that many families in our communities can’t afford to celebrate. All donations and proceeds were donated to MEND (Meet Each Need with Dignity), a non-profit organization that helps families in need.
We shared this (and much more) on our Snapchat. Add us to see what else we’ve been up to.
