Dexedrine

Another drug used to treat ADHD, dexedrine has been around since 1976, as many pilots in United States Air Force use it to stay away during flights. Dexedrine is actually the brand name for dextroamphetamine, which is a stimulant of the central nervous system. It can also be bought under the brand name “Dextrostat”, and while it can help with focus, energy and wakefulness, this drug is very addictive.

Effects and Abuse of Dexedrine

As with all amphetamines, dexedrine has a high potential rate for abuse. It’s typically found in the form of a pill and abused to help study for a test, lose weight and increase sports performance. Upon using and abusing dexedrine, a person’s brain system is affected, which then inspires repeated use of the drug.

Effects of Dexedrine include:

  • Seizures
  • Aggression
  • Delusional thoughts
  • Hallucinations
  • Chest pain
  • Anxiety
