Welcome to The Discovery House. We are here to help you through the recovery process and we will ensure that you have all the information you need before you begin treatment. Here, we’ve outlined some important information to help you prepare for what to expect upon arriving at our residential treatment center.
Family Days and Visiting Hours
Our family program is a strong component to every client’s recovery. Multi-family group sessions are held every Saturday. We welcome families into our facility at this time for an individual family consult to provide support for their loved ones, to learn more about the disease of addiction, and to develop stronger relationships with one another. We encourage family togetherness and we work with both the individual and their families to help address the underlying issues which have contributed to their addiction.
Cell Phone Policy
For the safety of our clients cell phone usage is limited. During phase one of the treatment process, a seven day phone black out is enforced. The house phone is available for use and calls are monitored. When clients move to phase two of treatment, cell phones are accessible.
No smoking or vaping is permitted inside any of the buildings at The Discovery House. There is a designated outdoor smoking area located in our courtyard.
Typically, you will need a few personal items, such as a change of clothes, comfortable shoes and personal care items. You will need your personal ID card, insurance card, along with any medications prescribed by your doctor.
What to Leave at Home
Drugs, alcohol, drug paraphernalia, and/or weapons are strictly prohibited. Any item that is suggestive of drugs or alcohol, such as clothing, music, and movies representing substance abuse are not allowed in any of our facilities.
